We love TLP. It's just a great pub/bar/restaurant. Great relaxed vibe. We always feel so welcome. The staff is super. The drinks are spot on. And the food is delicious.
I visited this place yesterday and it was so good, the food was great and parking was easy to find. Great beer selection and hard liquor menus available!
I love the Local Peasant and this location specifically. The ambiance is super laid back but you are met with quality service. Their selection of items means even the pickiest eater can find something. Their salads are especially good and are a good size. Their selection of cocktails are also plentiful and delicious. Local Peasant is perfect for anything from a girls night to a family dinner.
This place has an extremely generous poor for wine at happy hour. The potato puffs were insanely good and the deviled eggs were great too. I just wish they had more variety on their menu overall great place for happy hour.
I've been coming to the Sherman Oaks Local Peasant since early 2012, when people barely knew what a "gastropub" was. These days, you can't walk down any street in L.A. and sneeze without snot hitting the window of an industrial bar with herby craft cocktails and cast iron skillet-served apps. But when it first opened, it seemed like a sophisticated spot with an innovative menu. Though now subway tiles and wrought iron accents are standard pub décor, the Local Peasant remains an upper midscale place for quality food and drinks. Service is always friendly and efficient. It's not quiet, but a conversation can still be enjoyed even on a busy night. It may be tough to find parking on a weekend, but there are plenty of side streets with no meters if you don't mind a bit of a walk. There's also valet. I'm pleased that this place is still open, and still like it always was. With so many great spots from the 2010s now closed, it's lovely to be able to come back to a favourite place and make new memories over a decade later.
Long overdue, but met family here for some dinner and drinks during our visit in LA. Cool outdoor/indoor spot with lots of screens for sports games and things. The place is lively with loud background music and chatter. They have tables and lots of tall tables for bigger groups. It was during a heatwave so even having their dining area open to outside, it would have been nice if they had ceiling fans or something to make it a little cooler. Service is nice and attentive, esp given that we were a big group. The light bites were better than entrees, IMO. The crispy pork belly was so good, we ended up having to order more. The deviled eggs were good with a generous piece of bacon on top. I had to send my fries back only because it was cold like the food was sitting out for too long. But it definitely wasn't like the other fries my fam got. Parking can be challenging given that the place is on a busy street. Other than that, it's not a bad place to go to, esp during their HH!
The Local Peasant is always a solid choice. Good food an even better drinks! Staff is always super friendly, even when it's last call. They have a great selection of cocktails whether you are a beer, wine or cocktail fan. This is a great spot for dinner with friends or even a first date. It's super cozy and dimly lit inside. They also have a pretty big private room for large parties. I've been here for a corporate event and the event was well organized by staff. I love their array of options for appetizers if you just want a snack and a drink. When people who are not in the SFV ask for a recommendation of where to meet someone for a drink, I always recommend The Local Peasant.
We closed down the bar! Mind you we got there for the tail end of all thing Local Peasant - good music, jumbo flat screen entertainment, stellar drinks, casual chic cool ambiance. Maddy, TD, Eric and I had one awesome night here. And I've been to and by The L.P. - Sherman Oaks before being a super local, but this was the first time I felt like I really enjoyed it. Tons of seating at the bar, booths and cafeteria style seating. Fairly enjoyable gastropub and bar eats (like their Portobello Sandwich... yum) w/ an extensive craft list for cocktails, beer and wine. Being a sweltering summer the frose spoke to me most and it didn't disappoint. The service even more impressive. While hours are listed online - in person it simply states until close... Which leaves you to believe until they do last call and slow down, which they in fact did. The lights came on bright, the music simmered to off and the crew of this hip spot began wrapping up and our band of four walked each other out before calling it a night. Definitely would plan another impromptu night here as well as a promptu... Food available for takeout or delivery as well, though nothing beats in-person with chill friendly bartenders and servers. Street parking about, mostly metered and some small lots closeby. Open everyday - 11 AM on weekends #BrunchLocal and 4PM during the week.
Great vibes and clean place. I love how the walls and floors are wood with large TV screens above the bar for game days. Great place to spend on game days, St. Patrick's Day, get togethers, date nights, or lunch dates. I came here at 5pm on a Monday; it wasn't crowded and it so happen to be happy hour! We ordered a variety of dishes to share, my favorite being the grilled cheese because they make it on a fluffy focaccia, the ends of the sandwich had crispy cheese ends, and it was served with a delicious tomato bisque. It wasn't too oily either. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were also the star of the table; they were crisped to perfection and served with this vinaigrette that enhanced the flavor (please note that there are nuts in this dish). I couldn't stop eating the Brussels sprouts, and I'm usually not a fan of this particular vegetable. The Fish & Chips and The Peasant Minis were fine; loved the homemade Cajun chips and chipotle Mayo sauce. The fish was a little too breaded and the meat in the sliders was a little dry. I still enjoyed eating everything however. The servers were polite and accommodating, they checked on us a good amount and brought out our check + take out boxes in a timely manner. We were greeted with a welcome and sent off with a warm goodbye, will definitely be coming back to The Local Peasant soon!
